A seasoned guitarist, composer and arranger, David studied jazz guitar at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, Berklee College of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Den Haag. He currently is a professor for jazz studies at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg. He has released the first two volumes of his three part jazz theory method “Cogs and Wheels” in 2021. As a composer and bandleader, David has released five albums for the Waltzing-Parke Records label. His big band record “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Band” won the 2010 International Songwriting Competition in the Jazz category. His current release, “NE:X:T”, was nominated at the 17th Independent Music Awards in two categories (best song FUNK/FUSION/JAM for “Step Right Up!” and best producer JAZZ for the album).

 

Over the years, David played, composed and arranged material for the Orchestre Philharmonique Luxembourg and the Orchestre National de Jazz (both conducted by Gast Waltzing), featuring a large variety of artists of international renown, such as Richard Bona, Fried Pride, Shiho, China Moses and Morgane Ji. David is a long-standing member of trumpeter Gast Waltzing’s band ‘Largo’ and is the solo guitarist on Angélique Kidjo’s symphonic performances. Three of his orchestral arrangements are featured on Angélique Kidjo’s Grammy winning record ‘Sings’.
